Dr. Peterson’s goal is to provide tools for his patients to do what they love better, faster and stronger. He has a strong passion to help patients of central Nebraska take control of their lives from pain.  Dr. Peterson has been practicing in Kearney since 2013.

A staple in Dr. Peterson’s education was the importance of treating the soft tissue aspect of the musculoskeletal injury.  In addition to his chiropractic education Dr. Peterson specializes in Active Release Technique (ART®); a unique, reputable, comprehensive soft tissue management system.  Along with ART®, he includes stabilization with active physical therapy modalities, rehabilitation exercises, and RockTape.  This approach, coupled with chiropractic treatment, makes it possible for patients to experience lasting and self-sustained relief from chronic aches and pains.

Dr. Peterson earned his Doctor of Chiropractic degree, graduating Magna Cum Laude from Logan University in St. Louis, MO in December of 2012.  Prior to Logan, Dr. Peterson graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science from the University of Nebraska at Kearney, was a member of the National Scholar Honors Society as well as the Loper football team at UNK.  He is also a proud Kearney High School alumnus.

Dr. Peterson’s training in Active Release Technique and adjusting technique was procured by a multitude of physicians on the forefront of the chiropractic profession.  His instructors include Dr. Ralph Filson, St. Louis Cardinals team chiropractor and former St. Louis Rams team chiropractor, Dr. Darryl Ridgeway, Dr. Marty DeCourcy, Kansas City Chiefs team chiropractor,  Dr. Lanny Nelson, former BYU team chiropractor, team chiropractor for the University of Missouri athletics and Director of the BioFreeze Sports and Rehabilitation Clinic, and lastly, Dr. Brett Winchester, a world renowned chiropractor and lecturer.  

As a student intern Dr. Peterson had the privilege of working with and treating University of Missouri athletics, Maryville University athletics, McClure High Schools Track and Field teams and Glen Echo Country Club members.

In order to stay current on the ever-evolving world of health care in the United States, Dr. Peterson is an active member of the American Chiropractic Association and the Nebraska Chiropractic Physicians Association as these two organizations push to coordinate a wellness and prevention revolution of the health care paradigm.  

Dr. Peterson is active in the Kearney community as a member of the UNK alumni association and Holy Cross Lutheran Church. Dr. Peterson serves as a board member at the Kearney Family YMCA and the Loper Gridiron Club.

Dr. Peterson has a young daughter, Ryann, and 5 year old son, John. His wife, Kelsey, is a nurse practitioner at Platte Valley Medical Clinic. They enjoy spending time outdoors, camping, fishing and hunting
